Roxy Chicken Jam 2008: LE CONTEST EST ANNULE !

La situation météo est très semblable à celle d'hier, le vent est très violent sur les sommets et sur le park Roxy.

Les organisateurs ont donc pris la difficile décision d'annuler certte édition 2008 du Roxy Chicken Jam.

L'élite du snowboard mondial a donc rendez-vous l'année prochaine pour tenter de détrôner la hollandaise Cheryl Maas, victorieuse en 2007.

Roxy Chicken Jam 2008 : Résultats des qualifications

Les qualifications pour la 3ème édition du Roxy Chicken Jam ont débuté aujourd’hui à 13h sur le snowpark de Kitzsteinhorn à Kaprun (Autriche). Une cinquantaine de snowboardeuses venues de toute l’Europe ont enchainé les runs (passages dans le snowpark) pour tenter de réaliser l’enchainement parfait, synonyme de qualification pour les phases finales. Au départ de la compétition, elles devaient être seulement 5 à intégrer le main event, finalement, étant donné le niveau assez élevé de ces qualifications, l’organisation a choisi d’en sélectionner 8.

Demain les 29 snowboardeuses (21 déjà qualifiées et les 8 issues des qualifications) retenues pour disputer les finales de l’édition 2008 du Roxy Chicken Jam ont rendez-vous à 9h sur le glacier de Kaprun. Au programme une jam session avec 3 runs par fille. Trois consignes : créativité, engagement et style. A l’issue de ces runs, les 8 filles qui auront réalisé le meilleur passage seront qualifiées pour la finale. Même format pour les phases finales, les 8 lauréates enchaînent 3 runs, le meilleur sera retenu pour établir le classement. Cheryl Maas (Holl), victorieuse l’an passé, aura fort à faire pour espérer conserver son titre. Elle devra se confronter à la talentueuse Torah Bright (Aus), au style imparable de Kjertsi Buaas (Nor) et à l’audace des jeunes stars montantes. Tout le gratin mondial du snowboard devra également compter avec l’unique française sélectionnée, Margot Rozies.

Roxy Chicken Jam 2008: ready, go !

C’est reparti pour la plus célèbre compétition européenne de snowboard exclusivement réservée aux femmes, le Roxy Chicken Jam (du 12 au 14 décembre).

Pour la 3ème année consécutive, le snowpark de Kitzsteinhorn à Kaprun (Autriche) accueille l’élite mondiale du snowboard féminin. Etape du circuit international WTTR (Women’s Ticket To Ride), la 6ème édition du Roxy Chicken Jam est sanctionnée de 6* (niveau le plus élevé) et dotée de 50 000$.

The Roxy Pro Hawaii Situation: Trialists Announced!

A lot of things are on the line this year at the 2008 Roxy Pro Hawaii...The prize purse has now raised to $85k and there is an excellent chance that Sofia Mulanovich will be crowned 2008 ASP World Champion. She is a former Triple Crown Champ, was the 2004 World Champion, won the Roxy Pro Hawaii last year, and is currently ranked number 1 on the ASP Women's World Tour.

Last year Hawaiian local Coco Ho won the trials to get into the Roxy Pro as a wildcard and then went on to beat Stephanie Gilmore in her first round. The question this year is: will Coco be able to win the trails again at her home break or will she be beat out by Roxy up-and-comer Sally Fitzgibbons. Sally has won the Women's World Qualifying Series this year and is one tough competitor...
