Meribel mountain skate with the Gpsy Feelin boys

During this winter I went from Tignes to Meribel for the day with the Gpsy Feelin boys. We rode the snowpark there AND skated the mini ramp which is at the bottom of the park. It was a rad day and amazing to skate a mini ramp in such a spectacular location. Check out Yann Barthelemy's arty edit from the day and Davide Sisto Broglia's photographs.

Sally Fitzgibbons Claims Inaugural Australian Open Of Surfing Title!

Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) defeated Sofia Mulanovich (PER) in the final of the ASP 6-Star rated Australian Open Of Surfing, both surfers posted decent scores, but Fitzgibbons timed her turns to perfection to take out the event and claim the USD$8,000 winners cheque. Fitzgibbons has been in fantastic form all event, being rewarded by the judges for her ability to link turns together with her trademark smooth style. This week at the Australian Open Of Surfing Fitzgibbons notched four of the top 10 wave scores and two of the top three heat totals, proving that she was the inform surfer of the event and that she's not being hampered by her wrist injury.

"It's unbelievable!" Fitzgibbons said. "I was just focusing on working through my boards and going through some heats and before I know it I'm in the final. Sofia (Mulanovich) is such a tough competitor, I knew she'd be able to get the score needed, so it was a nervous wait at the end there. To win in front of this crowd, with so much support feels amazing! Then to have won the US Open and then the first ever Australian Open back to back is a special achievement."

Winter X Games Snowboard Slopestyle : Bronze Medal for Roxy's Kjersti Buaas !

Roxy rider Kjersti Buaas (Nor) last night, took the Snowboard Slopestyle Bronze Medal at the Winter X Games in Aspen (USA). After the first seven riders in the first round fell or bailed out before the final jump, Kjersti Buaas, 30, of Norway, finally put together a complete run after free-airing the third jump.

 

Thanks to her solid first run, she got a 78.33 pts score out of 100 and clinched her first ever X Games Medal in the US. “It feels amazing to be on the podium,” an excited Buaas said. “I have never been on the podium in X Games in the US. I have three fourth place finishes, so I was hoping not to have another one. I always try and focus on my own performance”.

La rideuse norvégienne du Team Roxy Kjersti Buaas, 30 ans, a remporté cette nuit la médaille de bronze en snowboard slopestyle des Winter X Games qui se déroulent actuellement à Aspen (USA). C'est grâce à son excellent premier run note 78,33 pts que la norvégienne, médaillée de bronze aux JO de Turin en half pipe, décroche sa première médaille aux Winter X Games.« C’est vraiment génial d’être sur le podium » s’est enthousiasmée la rideuse à l’issue de la finale. « Je n’ai jamais fait de podiums aux Winter X Games aux Etats-Unis.J’ai terminé trois fois à la quatrième place, donc j’espérais ne pas recommencer. Second Just In Paradise's music concert with Justine Mauvin during her stay. Probably her best concert ever. Settings were perfect, nice sunset atmosphere and the audience was really into the show and very playful. We had an amazing Christmas day !

London Freeze is alway’s……

An epic time. Good music, tons of epic people, and snowboarding. What more do you want in one weekend….

Here are just a few pictures from what went down!

Working hard in the Roxy/Quik office, pretty much running the show. JK, these 2 Hannah Bailey and Michelle Noschese do!

Lisa Wiik was in town for the day, serious shopping and checking out the Freeze! This is our pitstop after we had raided the Roxy store on Regent St!

Me and Wiiky got pretty excited when we saw Freddie on the outside of the office.

Shopping is actually exercise… in total, this would equal the weight of carrying a sand bag through the gym floor. So if you like shopping, keep working it!

It was rad to hang around with Roxy team mate Lisa Wiik aka Wiiky for the day. Count down right now till she is back on top form and slaying it in the comps!

The Lipstick premier also went down on the Saturday. 2 showing’s! both crammed to the door! and lots of positive feedback. Roxy and Nikita put the whole thing together, with Ivy Taylor and Gemma Marshall in the house representing for Nikita, and myself, Roxy skater Lois Pendlebury and Lisa Wiik in the house for the Roxy side of things!

Cooler mag, checked in to watch the movie, and has written an article about the whole premier! Thankyou for the nice words   check it.

Kassia Meador, 2011 ASPWorld Longboard Title runner up Roxy girls Kelia Moniz (Haw) & Kassia Meador (USA) 2nd and 3rd in China

Roxy Longboard team members, Kelia Moniz and Kassia Meador shined throughout the second stop of the ASP World Longboard Championships held for the first time on Hainan island, in China.

The Hawaiian siren, Kelia Moniz, 18, displayed her smooth and graceful style to reach the final afterdefeating her Roxy Team mates and world class surfers, 2 times world champion Jennifer Smith in quarters, and Kassia Meador in semis.

 

Chelsea Williams wins the chinese stop of the ASP World Longboard Title Race in front of Kelia Moniz (15,33 pts vs 12,36 pts), Summer Romero (USA) and Kassia Meador, placing equal 3rd of the event. At the age of 29, the iconiclongboarder Kassia Meador, gets 2 podiums at once in China. After placing 3rd at the Roxy Pro in Biarritz in July, the Oceanside surfer moves on a new 3rd place finish in Hainan island to reach the runner up position on the 2011 ASP World Ranking. A fair reward for the world’s best known, most imitated and admired longboarder.

America’s Lindsay Steinriede takes the 2011 world title crown and the Roxy girl Jennifer Smith takes the 3rd place of the podium.

Hintertux. 1st trip of the WINTER SEASON 2011

Last weekend I was over in Scotland for the Big Bang snowboard show, it was rad to be in Scotland and catch up with all the British crew, I never really get to ride in the snowdome so I had some fun cruising! I also held a coaching session with the one and only Ms Jennifer Jones, It was a Roxy all girls session and we had 20 plus girls, so a great turn out and the girls killed it!

After Scotland I missioned it over to Munich, and now im in Hintertux with Cheryl Maas. THE 2011/12 season has STARTED! We have had an epic week so far, 4 days of perfect sun.

The big kickers have been on ! and so have the huck sessions out of the pipe into the slush!

It's been great to see all the Roxy team back out here again, the other night we all headed out for dinner, Britte Van Der Pouw, Basa Stevulova and Lisa Wiik are all in town! and it's great to see those girls back on snow! whoooo

The park is on point right now! 2 big jumps, midi and small line, perfect for progression!

Its been rad to get on the big jumps and get my tricks back and also to try some new things while the snow is still soft.

Hintertux is so sick this time of year, after riding there has been football matches and pretty much the whole of the snowboard scene have been down in Mayrhofen, so far it seem’s that the Dutch have the edge on the rest of us though.

It has however turned to winter over night, pretty exciting snow in the village, however it means, we have had 2 days off so far!
