Team Roxy in second and third spot on the podium!
The 2012 European Open kicked off to a great start for the Roxy Team with the young riders dominating the field. The standard of riding in the girls competition, open to 14 year olds and younger, was incredibly high with the podium riders all throwing two 540's in their runs and very technical rail tricks as well. The competition was fearce with lead changes and all podium riders throwing away at least one of their runs to crashes in the three run final. In the end the Japanese rider Miyabi Owitsuka came out on top with a great run including a cab 540, frontside 360, backside 360, and frontside 540 as well as a boardslide to switch off. French Roxy rider Chloe Silliers had a brilliant first run with a switch backside 360, cab 180, backside 360 to backside 540 combination on the kickers and solid rails and rode in to a well deserved second place. UK Roxy rider and fellow team mate Katie Ormerod took the third spot with a cab 540, straight air to backside 360 to backside 540, with a front board on the rail.Great job girls!
The winning girls! Chloe, Miyabi and Katie.
