Mont Blanc is one of the most iconic mountains in the world and Chamonix one of the oldest ski areas. The Roxy Team spent a week here checking out the amazing terrain and kicker spots. Always up for a bit of fun the girls ride a bit of everything, making the most of the powder they find to show you what it is all about. Good days riding with good shred buddies! Enjoy!

Sofia Mulanovich Wins Second Individual ISA Gold Medal !

Sofia-ISA

Sofia Mulanovich, a former ASP World Champ and the 2004 ISA World Surfing Games gold medalist, was in rhythm with the waves and her board from the beginning of the day. In her early heat she recorded the highest single wave score (9.50) and total heat score (18.17) of the Open Women in route to qualifying for the final. In the 40-minute final, she locked down the win behind her powerful, multi-faceted approach for a heat score of 15.27.

“I’m really, really happy. The waves are super fun, I’ve been hanging with my team, it’s just been an amazing week,” said Mulanovich, after being hoisted to the podium by her teammates. “Plus, I haven’t really won a contest like this in a while; I got a little sensitive and almost started crying.”

Open Women Final
Gold – Sofia Mulanovich (PER) – 15.27
Silver – Sarah Baum (RSA) – 13.70
Bronze – Diana de Souza (BRA) – 12.60
Copper – Justine Dupont (FRA) – 10.76

Revelstoke Freeride Competition

I was told 2 weeks ago I was invited on the Freeride World Tour 2012, so I rushed to book my flight to Cagary, for the first stop in Revelstoke.

That was probably the longest trip of my life, about 36hrs of travelling to get there...

We had quite bad visibility the whole time, to check the face and to ride the comp too.

The organization dropped us with a big heli and we had to ride on a ridge to reach the start.

I wasn't feeling comfortable at all at the top, I was quite impressed, I definitely have to get used to heights.

But once I dropped in, it all felt so much better, the snow was really good and a bit sluffy, which I'm also not used to. I did have a mellow run, with 2 small jumps, and it took me to the second place!

I was happy to have my french buddies around, they gave me good advices, nice to meet new cool people too!

Now we have a couple of days to ride around the area, and watch the skier's finals!

Margot Roziès (Fra) takes 2nd place of the inaugural 2012 Freeride World Tour stop of the year at Revelstoke, Canada

Margot-News
Roxy French team rider Margot Roziès, 26, achieved an authentic exploit last night while taking the second place of the inaugural event of the Freeride World Tour in Revelstoke, Canada. For a first participation to the FWT, Margot impressed everyone with a nice and fast run awarded by 55 points allowing her to get on the podium just behind Maria DeBari (USA). American Shannan Yates takes the third place.

“I was really nervous up there, because I was the first to drop in and it is my first Freeride World Tour competition. The snow was really sluffy and I had to wait a bit before I could jump, but it was really exciting and I had a great run.”

This performance is a great start for the French backcountry specialist and former French National Team Freestyler. Margot will be now heading to France to take part to the second event of the FWT, to be held from January 21st to 27th in Chamonix.
