Roxy Longboard team members, Kelia Moniz and Kassia Meador shined throughout the second stop of the ASP World Longboard Championships held for the first time on Hainan island, in China.
The Hawaiian siren, Kelia Moniz, 18, displayed her smooth and graceful style to reach the final afterdefeating her Roxy Team mates and world class surfers, 2 times world champion Jennifer Smith in quarters, and Kassia Meador in semis.
Chelsea Williams wins the chinese stop of the ASP World Longboard Title Race in front of Kelia Moniz (15,33 pts vs 12,36 pts), Summer Romero (USA) and Kassia Meador, placing equal 3rd of the event. At the age of 29, the iconiclongboarder Kassia Meador, gets 2 podiums at once in China. After placing 3rd at the Roxy Pro in Biarritz in July, the Oceanside surfer moves on a new 3rd place finish in Hainan island to reach the runner up position on the 2011 ASP World Ranking. A fair reward for the world’s best known, most imitated and admired longboarder.
America’s Lindsay Steinriede takes the 2011 world title crown and the Roxy girl Jennifer Smith takes the 3rd place of the podium.
