Back to hawai for some news on the last comp of the year in the women world cup of surfing..
Sunset Beach, Oahu
For this last comp the girls are battling for the ratings points towards the Vans Triple Crown title and requalification for the 2011 ASP Dream Tour.
Lee ann, sally and sofia advanced directly to the quaters in some 2meters waves, showing us some good surfing on their big boards.
Sally, No. 2 on the Tour and finalist at last year’s event, donated a strong performance in her opening heat, earning the day’s highest single-wave score of an 8.50 before clinching the highest heat total with crisp rail-to-rail surfing to advance to the Quarterfinals.
“We’ve got really good conditions out here, I just got in a good rhythm out there and I’m happy to move through. It’s all about timing and I think I’ve gained a lot of confidence from last year.” said sally
“It’s a long way to go, but I love surfing at Sunset and having some bigger waves,” sally said. “We haven’t really had many big waves this year on tour and it’s good to break out the big boards and have a crack. I’d love to make a final here again and help my Triple Crown cause.”
Today the contest is off as waves aren't really breaking..
So we gone go for some other activities!!

Surf contest in Italy - Protest Banzai Pro 2010
After the waiting period, our Italian Team had fun on the spot called Banzai in Santa Marinella.
Here is the result of the podium: Valentina Vitale get 1st, Greta Dalle Luche 2sd and Alessandra Ballistreri 3rd.

2 days of riding so far, it was nice but the layer is still not so thick, beware of the rock!

We decided to get a bit of physical training yesterday so we hiked up the mountain ...
we hiked about 2 hours for a 15min ride ... Whatever! We 're getting stronger! :)

After the past busy days we decided to sleep in on our last day and got up for late breakfast. Part of the group had a long night so we had some great laughs at the breakfast table. As for the day planning-there were still some photos to be taken and some chocolate to be bought. We took the electro cab down to the village (Zermatt is a car free town so you have all these little electro cabs rolling around) and found many cheesy souvenirs

We rushed back, bought some chocolate and took the last pics of Torah with her medal. It is always hard to say good bye to people that were strangers in the beginning and that you got to know a bit through spending so much time together. We decided to meet again at the European X Games in March 2011 and to look into options to put up a nice ROXY night in an apartment with a cool DJ...maybe you have time to stop by...and hope you get loads of time to go riding..
Torah- REAL GOLD IS ON THE INSIDE
Oslo’s largest snow park and resort, Tryvann Vinterpark, opens today for the 10/11 season.
Roxy is the main sponsor of the resort, and Nora went up the night before and tried out a few of the rails, with great success.
Despite it still being early days, the conditions are good and Nora was superstoked; “This resort is well renowned for having a fun park and it looks like this season will be no exception”, she said.
In addition to being the most popular resort in the capital area, Tryvann is also scheduled to host the Snowboarding World Championships in 2012.
This involves numerous improvements to the park, which riders will be able to take advantage of progressively. Nora sure will.

After our little trip into the snow storm we got back and Torah went straight into a photo shoot with Grazia magazine. The story is about 24 hours with Torah and it includes early morning wake up shots (well, honestly it was in the afternoon, but have a look it totally seems like early morning..... )

(so excited as none of us ever got close to an olympic medal and this one is GOLD..the real thing!!)
Last morning in Zermatt, Torah checking the view from our balcony..
I have just spent a great weekend in Aberdeen, Scotland, at the UK Ladies Skateboard series finals. The comp was the last in a series held all over the UK and the overall UK Ladies Champion was crowned. The events were organized by Roxy's own Lois Pendlebury who, as well as skating in all the events, managed to pull together all the plans for the events and get things running smoothly too.
It was great to see so many great female skaters shredding the park in Aberdeen and I even had a go myself in the beginners come and try session. I definitely need some practice! Aimee however has obviously been having a lot of secret skateboard practice and ended up entering the comp and came 10th!

In the end it was Kiwi ripper Georgie Mathiews who won the overall but the UK Title went to Helena Long. Lois ended up in a well deserved third place but was definitely the happiest person in the room having pulled off the first ever skateboard series of events in the UK for ladies! Great job Lois!
So here we are enjoying dinner with about 20 people and many stories. Did you know that you can eat roses? I promise we all ate sugared roses and Torah got the recipe to serve it at home to her friends in Salt Lake City.

The next morning we got up early to go riding. The mountain was wrapped into clouds and when we got up (it is 3300m!!!) we were in -15 degrees and huge windstorm. The weather changed rapidly and was getting worse and worse...
