ROXY...STYLE SQUAD...SPOTTING

At the end of day 4 of the Quik Pro the squad had gathered a few more images and spoken to lots more people.  The main competition was not run but the King of the Groms was.  We had the squad searching for the BEST beach jewellery, which was a bit of a tricky category!

It's easy enough to notice a cool hat or funky piece of clothing, but when dressing for the beach - jewellery isn't at the top of the list of things to remember!  A good watch, a cool ring, a quirky necklace, these were all things that the team were trying to spot.
We came back with a few....i'm sure there will be more over the next few days on the competition.  We'll definitely keep updating each category...stay posted!

Day 3 of the Quik Pro and the Squad were searching the beaches for...BEST hats.  It's amazing how many cool girls are out there wearing funky hats.  We think that girls aren't wearing them enough, or at least they are not as obvious as they should be!  

We are sure that there is more to be made of this trend... we wonder if this could be a cool project to start... BEST hat, designed by YOU!  What do you think, what would you want as your ideal head protector?

ROXY...STYLE SQUAD...SPOTTING

Day 2 continued... it's not just during the day that the style squad is out and about during the Quik Pro France.  Last night 4 members of the squad cycled down to Capbreton Boardrider store on our rather fashionable pink ROXY bikes to take a few snaps, during the Photo exhibition by Bara Prasilova.

We managed to find some rather cool girls down at the store, including some of the Quik Women representatives.  Ledra Chapman was there along with Mahara MC Kay...It was a good evening and on our cycle home the sunset was pretty impressive so we thought you might appreciate a couple of shots of this too!

Day 2 of the Quik Pro France contest 2010....BEST sunnies

 

So day 2, even though only 3 rounds of heat 2 were run, the Roxy STYLE SQUAD managed to see some cool spectators and the general trend that we saw were SUNNIES...so the team decided to focus on BEST sunnies.

The girls stuck together crawling the beach of Les Culs Nuls, chatting to people and snapping away.  Let us know what you think of the shots we've taken...we think they're pretty cool.
Tonight is the Bara Prasilova Photo Exhibition, followed by the Acoustic Set by Julie Boulanger and her band, Freckles at the Boardrider Store, Capbreton, so hopefully we're going to spot some cool styles....

Final stop on the British Longboard Tour 2010

Saturday saw the deciding event of the British Longboard Championships being held at Gwithian Beach, Cornwall in far from ideal 1 to 2 foot slop. Despite the challenging conditions there was some spectacular surfing on display!

Candice O'Donnell stole the show and sealed 4 out of 4 wins on the British Longboard tour 2010, showcasing her skills in the weak swell Candice managed to pull off critical maneuvers, and took home the Women's title.

BEST beach ambience for Day 1 of the Quik Pro France 2010

Day 1 of the Quiksilver Pro France and the Roxy Style Squad had the mission of finding the best ambience on the beach.  Each day we give ourselves a new task of searching for the coolest item, whether it is a BEST image, BEST piece of clothing, BEST colours, BEST shapes etc.

Today we went for BEST beach ambience, tomorrow we're concentrating on fashion!

"Sitting on the beach at a contest, a friend
of mine and I decided that it would be a good idea to gather a couple friends
and go to Bali. No contest, no pressure to perform…. not to mention warm
water! Me, thinking that it sounded
to good to be true, had a peep on the internet to have a look at the cheapest airline
rates. One thing led to another and I found myself Google imaging the break we
were interested to stay at. My jaw dropped when I saw the “book now” button.
Me, three friends and my brother were checking in at Jo-burg airport on the 23^rd
of June."

"I’ll be back in Bali in 2 weeks time for the Oakley World

News from Brazil... Florianopolis

Hi Everyone!! Here we are Florianopolis, for the WQS women 6stars event on playa Mole..

Johanne, Ornella and Bruna met up with Laura for that main event heading down south..

 We run the first today and all the crew went through! yeah!

Its raining stones here in brazil, after a first sunny day.. but waves are good !!

Hi everyone!!

Im so stocked about this win!! Whaoo!! Winning in brazil will stay in my memory.. for my first time in this country.. on the podium !! First place.. and check who was there!! Not bad!!

Summer 2010

I am really looking forward to the start of the winter season now, count down now. I am heading away on the 1st of October to Hintertux to ride the Glacier there with the British Snowboard team.

I have just put this fun edit together from my summer, I rode 2 Alpes in France for 2 weeks on a Roxy training camp with Basa, Mirabelle, Clemence, Emma and 2 of the younger British Roxy riders Sophie and Katie. It was so much fun to hang out with the girls and get some time on snow. I have also been trying some surfing and a bit of skating as you will see in the video!

I am currently in London, we have just had the Launch of the new Roxy Virgin Active snow work out, which is really exciting. I will inform you some more on that in my next post.
