Britains top stand-up paddleboarder and Roxy rider, Claire Blacklock will attempt to cross the English channel in world record time this summer!
Along with 4 others, Claire aims to cross the channel in June this year. Setting off from Dover and aiming to arrive in Calais around 5 hours later. The event takes place between the 18th- 25th of June, with the paddlers waiting for the best tide and weather conditions in which to make the 21 mile crossing. If successful, they will be the first ever stand-up paddleboard team to have crossed the Channel and could potentially break the record for the fastest crossing- which currently stands at 5hours 9minutes.
The event has been put together by the SAS, with the support of BSUPA- with the paddlers aiming to raise about £10,000 to support SAS's campaigns to protect surfers, waveriders, waves and beaches around the UK.
