The Roxy European snow team have been training and competing in Saas Fee Switzerland, officially kicking off the 09/10 season in the best way possible with an outstanding win from Torah Bright in the World Cup half pipe event held last Thursday. Torah competed alongside fellow Roxy team mates including Lisa Wiik from Norway, Kendal Brown from New Zealand, Paulina Ligoska from Poland, Alyona Alenka from Russia, Mirabelle Thovex from France and Lesley Mckenna from the UK. Mirabelle was next best of the Roxy girls on the day with a career best result of 5th place and Paulina followed close on her heals with a notable 7th place. Mirabelle has gone from strength to strength this last season and it is great to see all her hard work paying off. Torah took the win with a Cai Xuetong from China in second and Sophie Rodriguez in third.Torah's win concluded a month of Roxy activity in the pretty little alpine resort of Saas Fee.

The month started off with the Roxy Future Team camp, a yearly camp for the up and coming Roxy team riders hosted by the Hotel Dom and Saas Fee and led by Roxy coach Lesley McKenna. The Future camp went really well with the riders all pushing one another and building some strong foundations for the coming months in the form of new tricks and renewed team spirit. Roxy new addition Enni Rukajarvi from Finland definitely made a great first impression with her smooth skills in the pipe and on the kickers. The Roxy Team welcomes Enni and looks forward to many happy days shredding with her.

As well as ruling on the snow the Roxy Team were to be found representing all over town no matter the occasion. Team riders were even to be spotted among the undead of Halloween, although the Roxy ghosts seemed pretty familiar and very friendly......

The month of October actually kicked off for the Roxy Team before getting on the glacier in Saas Fee with the announcement that Lisa Wiik won the much coveted Female Snowboarder of the Year in Norway. The award was given for all the amazing results Lisa got last season including her TTR 3rd place and her BEO slopestyle win. We are extremely proud of Lisa and are all looking forward to more great riding from her this coming season.
Lisa with her well deserved award.
The Roxy Team are now heading all over the place as they all start their season proper. Some of the riders are heading to the Pleasure Jam in Austria next week while some others are heading to Colorado at the end of the month for some training and the Dew Tour competition. We are all stoked to have been able to catch up with as many of the riders as possible in Saas Fee and are all very much looking forward to the Chicken Jam in Austria at the start of Jan where we will all get to meet up again. Until then we will keep you posted of our progress and our travels.
