Good day all, so yet another early start from the Rat pack, all sleepy eyed and amped to get the boards in the car to surf what ever Morroco had to offer us, Kass decided to stay at the apartment and catch up on some shut eye, due to jetlag and that her boards having still not turned up.
I feel for Jen , Kass and sally with it being the 4 day all ready and still no sign of boards, they seem to be lost some where in space between France and Morocco, never the less the girls are high spirited and amped to ride borrowed boards from the quiver we Lee Anne and I have.
So having packed the car, grabbed a quick breakfast we zoomed off down the Moroccan Coast line with the sun rising in front of us, amped to see what was on offer.
Search we did checking 2 to 3 spots, until we decided to paddle out to this empty right hander. It was only a few feet but super racy and shallow. Lee Anne, Saly and I zipped up and paddled out as quick as possible before the conditions changed.
Feeling a little worse for wear with A stomach bug I bailed out early, and joined the rest of the gang on the cliff to watch Lee Anne and Sally shred for another hour or so.
Hunger set in and we decided to head back and pick up Kass, and a bite to eat. Having the full crew together we set out again to look at some of the spots we had checked in the morning.
Unfortunately the weather had something else in mind for us.
A dark torques strip lined the horizon, and the landscape took on a new persona. none the less we continued to drive and search not deterred by the change in weather.
We pulled up to a tricky yet empty reef brake, with the occasional reeling right-hander. This spot is a favourite of our Guide Saad’s and so Lee Anne and Sally were amped to get their shred on. With a more than tricky walk over the jagged rocks and sweeping current the girls managed to get out in one piece.
All the while the torques Horizon that we had earlier admired, had turned black and a storm doomed right in our direction. The wind had picked up , the rain came down hard. For those of us in the car sheltering we sat anxiously for the girls to come in safly over the reef with the incoming tide.
Back home and safe out of the eye of the storm everyone dispersed around the apartment. Kass had itchy feet and decided to hit the wedge out front and shoot some night time flash shots with Damien and Sebastian. The rest of us gathered on the porch and hooted Kass in on some tricky double up wedges. The night was ended with a good feed, a card game or two and a trade off of photos and music.
Tomorrow we hope for a knock on the door and everyone’s boards to arrive.
